Good Idea, Bad Idea
Jun. 5th, 2009 05:51 amYesterday was one of those good news bad news days, but I think the good outweighed the bad.
Good! They are giving holiday pay for both July 4th, the Federal holiday and July 3rd, which is the Enterprise-Wide holiday. So that 20 hours at holiday premium pay. AWESOME.
Bad News! As of next week, my shifted schedule is likely to come to an end. My supervisor and others are trying to get planning to keep the shifted schedule for the 5 or so of us that moved to a later shift. I really don't want to work opening again. I'm not awake. I don't get a social life. This one hour makes a big difference.
Good News! Student Insurance picked up the rest of nicks ER bill. Almost $700. This was the bill I was least looking forward to and it's just gone. It's like invisible found money from St Anthony. Since I'm not Catholic anymore, I suppose I should be thanking Hermes.
Bad News: I have almost no spring/summer work clothes. I'm wearing things that don't look that good, or are too dressy or a little underdressed (not for the BRC, but for me). I think I might have to head to Kohls and get a few small things. I've only been getting basics lately, but when you aren't layering, I think I need one or two real tops.
But yeah, mostly good news all around. And considering Nick got his placement letter for fieldwork, he should be back in school in the fall, so we will have Financial Aid money again, so we can pay things off, which means only two more months of this worrying. Of course, he's place in Peoria, so he'll spend a lot in gas money, but we can work that in.
Things are finally looking up.
